UHI and OTHM Create Innovative International Pathways for Student Success
The University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) has signed a new articulation agreement with OTHM Qualifications. This partnership allows OTHM students to progress directly into the third year of selected UHI degree programmes, recognising their prior learning without duplicating studies.
OTHM, a renowned UK qualifications provider, delivers higher education-level diplomas in over 70 countries. Originally founded as the ‘Organisation of Tourism and Hospitality Management’, OTHM has since expanded its offerings across various sectors, now providing qualifications in multiple subject areas.
Through this agreement, students who have successfully completed OTHM’s Level 5 Extended Diplomas in subjects such as accounting, business management, tourism, health and social care, and information technology will be eligible to enter directly into the third year of corresponding degree courses at UHI. This initiative aligns with UHI’s commitment to widening participation and expanding access to higher education for a diverse range of students.
Kevin Sinclair, Student Engagement Manager at UHI, commented: “We are delighted to announce our new articulation agreement with OTHM. This partnership reinforces our commitment to providing flexible and inclusive educational opportunities to more people. Through our various articulation agreements with external colleges and qualification providers, we create clear pathways for students, enabling them to advance without standard entry requirements and receive credit for the first two years of their degree. This approach avoids duplication of study, saving our students valuable time and money.”
This agreement opens doors for OTHM students to continue their education at UHI and if interested, encouraged to contact OTHM for more information.
