Mushaira held to stress the significance of plantation

 

ALIGARH  : The Aligarh Muslim University’s Centre for Professional Development of Urdu Teachers, popularly known as Urdu Academy, organized a poetic session (Mushaira), which was followed by an environment awareness programme, presided over by the chief guest, Dr Shams Tabrez of Department of Agricultural Microbiology.

He discussed the importance of protecting ecosystems, developing knowledge and skills to address complex environmental issues and understanding how our actions impact the natural world. He stressed the need for conducting plantation drives at every level and urged the people to plant a sapling in their localities under the national “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.

Earlier, welcoming the guests and poets, the Director of the Centre, Prof Quamrul Hooda Faridi highlighted the significance of planting trees and urged all to participate in the plantation drive.

He said that the poetic session was attended by several popular poets, including Prof Mehtab Haider Naqvi, Mr. Alam Khursheed, Dr. Sarvar Sajid, Dr. Moid Rasheedi, Dr. Sarfraz, Dr. Abu Mohd. Swaleh, Mr. Gulfam, Mr. Saif Ali Khan, Mr. Abdul Mannan, and Mr. Hamid Masood Javed Ashraf and Mr. Altaf.

Mr. Ashraf Javed conducted the programme and Dr. Rafiuddin extended a vote of thanks.
