Induction programme held for newly-admitted Computer Science students

ALIGARH  : The Department of Computer Science, Aligarh Muslim University organized a three-day induction programme for the newly-admitted undergraduate and postgraduate computer science students to familiarize them with the department’s environment and introduce them to the faculty members and senior students.

In his interaction with the students, Prof. Aasim Zafar, former Chairperson of the department congratulated them to become a part of the department and urged them to utilize the resources available in the department to excel in their studies.

Dr. Parvez Mahmood Khan, Director, Prof M.N. Faruqi Computer Centre, highlighted the computer and internet facilities available in the computer centre.

Prof. Arman Rasool Faridi, Chairperson of the department and Deputy Proctor informed students about the cultural and residential life, traditions and the activities of different clubs of the University that students can join to improve their personality.

He explained to them in detail the rules and regulations enshrined in the Students’ Code of Conduct. He also sensitized them about the anti-ragging laws, process of students’ grievance redressal, gender sensitization, cleanliness, etc.

Dr. Mohammad Nadeem, the Training and Placement Officer of the department discussed the placement opportunities and the key skills necessary for the students to secure jobs in multinational companies.

Dr. Faisal Anwer, Assistant Coordinator of NEP Cell, elaborated on the salient features of the National Education Policy-2020, and how they can get benefited from it in different ways.
