AMU faculty receives National Geospatial Faculty Fellow Award 

ALIGARH  : Dr. Haris Hasan Khan, Chairperson, Interdisciplinary Department of Remote Sensing and GIS Applications, Aligarh Muslim University received the National Geospatial Faculty Fellow Award at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) during the National Geospatial Awards 2024 and Open GIS Day celebrations. He received the award from Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay.

The National Geospatial Award, an initiative of the FOSSEE (GIS) project, IIT Bombay, is given under the aegis of the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT), Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Dr Haris has been selected for his contributions in the field of geospatial sciences, especially for the promotion of open-source geospatial software like SAGA, QGIS, SNAP, ODM, etc, and online geospatial datasets to address concerns about water resources.
