AMU faculty presents paper at a national seminar on ‘Museums for 2047
ALIGARH : Dr. Danish Mahmood, Department of Museology, Aligarh Muslim University presented a paper on “Collection Research in Natural History Museums: Present Scenario and Future Prospects” at a national seminar organized by the Allahabad Museum, Prayagraj, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
Dr. Mahmood discussed the gradual development of natural history museums which have undergone significant changes following modern researches on natural history collections. He said that there is a need for carrying out collaborative and multidisciplinary researches in this field.
Later, he joined the panel discussion and contributed in the preparation of vision document for Museums for 2047, which will be submitted to the Ministry of Culture. He, along with Mr. Masarrat Khan, an Artist from his department and other delegates, visited historical archaeological site of ‘Shringverpur’ situated at the left bank of river Ganga in Prayagraj.
