Smiling Tree Partners with Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, for Tree Plantation Drive

As part of its ongoing efforts to foster environmental sustainability and create a greener campus, Smiling Tree has partnered with Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi, to conduct a tree plantation drive. The initiative saw the plantation of a variety of native and culturally significant trees, including Tulsi, Bargad (Banyan tree), Peepal, Neem, and Amla, marking a major step towards promoting biodiversity and ecological well-being.

The plantation drive, spearheaded by Dr. Mukesh Kwatra, the founder of Smiling Tree, aims to not only enhance the greenery on the SRCC campus but also raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation. Through this collaboration, Smiling Tree continues its mission of encouraging sustainable living and eco-friendly practices among young students.

Dr. Kwatra further emphasized the role of youth in shaping a sustainable future, adding, “By engaging students in such initiatives, we are educating the next generation about their responsibility towards the planet. Together, we can create greener spaces that benefit both nature and society.”

The plantation drive at SRCC is part of Smiling Tree’s broader goal of planting trees across various urban and rural regions, with a focus on boosting green cover and promoting environmental consciousness. The selection of Tulsi, Bargad, Peepal, Neem, and Amla reflects a deep respect for India’s rich natural heritage, as these trees are known for their environmental and health benefits.

The plantation drive represents a collaborative effort to enhance the green landscape of SRCC while fostering environmental awareness and community involvement. The initiative is part of Smiling Tree’s larger mission to address climate change through tree planting, environmental education, and community-driven conservation efforts.
