IIT Madras Pravartak partners with SWAYAM Plus to launch Skill-based Training Program for Engineering & Science students

This 11-Day training program, which will offer Placement Assistance, will be taught in physical mode at IIT Madras & will focus on Semiconductor Industry with 3rd Oct 2024 being the last date to register

 

CHENNAI : IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation is partnering with SWAYAM Plus to launch a new initiative to train Engineering and Science students with electronics background with industry-ready technical skills.

Placement assistance will be provided for students who excel in the program. Pravartak will select the students for the training program to impart industry-ready skills. The training program will be at IIT Madras Campus.

The training program will be from 7th October 2024 to 18th October 2024. The last date to apply is 3rd October 2024. Those interested can register through the following link – (https://iitmpravartak.org.in/advanced_electronic_mfg)

Highlighting the importance of this initiative, Prof. R. Sarathi, Dean (Planning), IIT Madras, said, “We are committed to impart skilling for upcoming graduates to enable them for jobs. This initiative is to provide a comprehensive training experience that prepares participants to deliver exceptional skill in the semiconductor industry. This program is designed to equip with the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools to handle a wide range of technical and customer service issues efficiently and effectively.”

IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation is a Section 8 Company housing a Technology Innovation Hub on Sensors, Networking, Actuators and Control Systems. It is funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, under its National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems and hosted by IIT Madras.

Highlights of the Program:

Ø  Industry relevant curriculum: Designed in collaboration with leading Industry experts to deliver hands-on in latest technology & processes in Electronics manufacturing

Ø  Placement Support: CEC IIT Madras will provide placement assistance and connect final year students with Leading electronics manufacturing companies

Ø  Bridging the Skill Gap: This course will empower students with the skills required to meet the growing demand for qualified professionals in the Electronics Manufacturing Service(EMS) Industry.

The summary of the program:

Ø  This will be a classroom-based hands-on training program.

Ø  Course content includes PCB Assembly all processes involved in soldering. understanding of SMT reflow soldering, PCBA inspection systems, Power Electronics, PWM basics, Embedded system design with STM 32 microcontroller, Configuring GPIO ports, LCD display interface, servo and stepper motor interface using STM 32

Ø  In-take Eligibility Criteria: Engineering / Diploma / Science Students & Graduates with Electronics Background

Ø  Benefits – Skill the students to enable them to join any Semiconductor Industry.

This program will provide completely hands-on training with a subsidized fee of INR 15,000/- + GST. Accommodation will be offered at IIT Madras campus at a basic cost of INR 650/- per day per student, which includes food and stay. Request for accommodation can be made on/before 3rd October 2024

The course will include PCB Assembly, Solder paste basics, stencil basics, solder paste printing, PCBA pick and place system, understanding of SMT reflow soldering, PCBA inspection systems, Overview of power electronic components, DC to DC power converters, AC to DC power converters, DC to AC inverters, PWM basics, Embedded system design with STM 32 microcontroller, Configuring GPIO ports, PWM generation, ADC and DAC interface, LCD display interface, servo and stepper motor interface using STM 32.

SWAYAM Plus is a joint initiative by the Ministry of Education, Government of India and IIT Madras, launched in line with National Education Policy’s (NEP 2020) focus on promoting and encouraging employability-focused, skilling courses. It aims to build employable skills among graduates across sectors critical to India’s growth. The aim is also to align industry skills with academic courses, thereby bridging the gap.
