Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations at AMU on 2nd October

 

Aligarh : Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will commemorate Gandhi Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, on October 2. The celebrations will begin at 9:45 a.m. at the Maulana Azad Library (MAL) with the inauguration of an exhibition of books and photographs on Mahatma Gandhi by AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Naima Khatoon.

Prof. Khatoon will address the gathering and administer the National Integration Pledge and the Sanitation Pledge, promoting the values of unity and cleanliness.

Prof. Nishat Fatima, University Librarian, announced that following the ceremonial opening of exhibition, there will be speeches on Gandhi’s life by students Syed Faheem Noor (B. Tech, Electronics, 3rd Year) and Madiha Noor (B.A. English, V Semester). Faculty members Prof. Meraj Ahmad (Department of Hindi) and Prof. Arshi Khan (Department of Political Science) will also deliver speeches.

The event will conclude with a vote of thanks by Prof. Nishat Fatima.
