KIIT World School Gurugram Celebrates Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and Swachhata Pakhwada with Zeal

Gurugram: KIIT World School, Gurugram, commemorated Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti enthusiastically, emphasizing the values of truth, non-violence, and cleanliness that the Father of the Nation stood for. As part of the celebration, the school also organized the Swachhata Pakhwada, an initiative to promote cleanliness, encouraging students and staff to participate in various activities dedicated to maintaining a clean environment.

The event began with a special assembly where students delivered speeches, recited poems, and presented skits showcasing the principles of Mahatma Gandhi’s life. These performances reminded everyone of the importance of adopting Gandhian values in their daily lives. The assembly was followed by the Swachhata Pakhwada campaign, during which students actively engaged in a cleanliness drive within the school premises and the surrounding areas. They took the lead in cleaning classrooms, playgrounds, and corridors while raising awareness about the significance of sanitation and hygiene.

The school also held a poster-making competition where students expressed their thoughts on “Clean India, Green India,” highlighting the importance of a sustainable and eco-friendly environment.

Principal Neelima Kamrah, addressing the occasion, said, “Mahatma Gandhi’s vision for a clean and self-reliant India is more relevant today than ever. Through the Swachhata Pakhwada campaign, we aim to instill in our students the values of cleanliness, responsibility, and sustainability. I am proud of the enthusiasm shown by our students, as they truly embodied the spirit of Gandhi’s teachings.”
