APM Terminals Pipavav Opens Doors to Education with New Learning Centre

Pipavav – APM Terminals Pipavav inaugurated the Jhaverchand Meghani Learning Resource Centre in Thavi, a sub-village of Bherai, as part of its ongoing commitment to education and community development. The centre, named after renowned Gujarati laureate Shri Jhaverchand Meghani, will provide quality education to over 40 children from underprivileged families in the area.

The centre was inaugurated by Shri Subir Mehrotra, Head of Engineering, and Shri Jignesh Adhyaru, Head of Projects, senior leadership from APM Terminals as well as village representatives.

This new facility is part of APM Terminals Pipavav’s broader commitment to education through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The company currently supports the education of more than 6,000 students in surrounding villages through various programs. These comprehensive educational activities include Project Gyanjyot, Mobile Science & Maths Lab, and remedial education for academic performance improvement, digital classrooms, and adult literacy programs.

APM also conducts enrolment drives aiming for 100% school attendance, provides distance education support for dropouts, and offers activity-based science and spoken English programs. Additionally, APM Terminals Pipavav organizes parenting sessions, one-on-one counselling, inter-village sports days, and provides educator support to local schools. The company has also invested in developing computer labs, libraries, and sports grounds in the surrounding villages to enhance the overall educational experience.

By establishing the Learning Resource Centre in Bherai Village, APM Terminals Pipavav reaffirms its commitment to empowering local communities and fostering educational opportunities for the future generations.
