IIM Nagpur and State Bank of India Join Hands for Tree Plantation Drive
Nagpur: The Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM Nagpur), in partnership with the State Bank of India (SBI), today launched a Tree Plantation Drive at the Nagpur Main campus under the Institute’s CSR Activities Division. This initiative, aimed at promoting environmental sustainability, will significantly contribute to the nation’s continuous efforts towards a greener future.
This event was organized in the gracious presence of Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Nagpur, Prof. Prashant Gupta, Dean – Faculty, Academics & Alumni Affairs, IIM Nagpur, and SBI Team members led by Shri Rakesh Kumar Yadav, General Manager, SBI alongside Shri Rajeev Sawrav, DGM, Shri Mrutyunjay Panda, RM of SBI Nagpur Division. The Faculty and Staff members at IIM Nagpur, along with their families and SBI team members from the Bank’s Nagpur Division, actively and wholeheartedly participated in making the event a resounding success.

IIM Nagpur and SBI reiterate their unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship. This drive is a testament to their dedication and aligns with the GoI’s National Forest Policy (2018) and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Shri Rakesh Kumar Yadav, SBI’s General Manager, said, “SBI has always been at the forefront of environmental initiatives. It is a delight to collaborate with IIM Nagpur to promote CSR activities.” He further added, “Together, we can make a significant impact through such drives.”
The Office of the Fund Initiatives, Estate Department at IIM Nagpur, in collaboration with the SBI VNIT Branch, Nagpur, coordinated this program. The major highlight was planting over 1500 saplings of native species in the IIM Nagpur Main Campus at Nagpur under this CSR activity.
