Ural Federal University Alumni Reconnect in Kostanay Region for Collaborative Initiatives
A branch of the Kazakhstan Alumni Association of UPI, UrSU and UrFU was opened in Kostanai.
The participants of the new branch in Kazakhstan were welcomed by Sergey Kortov, First Vice-Rector of UrFU. The meeting was also attended by Sergey Tushin, UrFU Vice-Rector for International Relations, Elena Osipchukova, Deputy Director of the UrFU Alumni Partnership Development Center, Maksudbek Rakhanov, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Kazakstan Endowment, Board Member of the Kazakhstan Alumni Association of UPI, UrSU and UrFU, and Leila Kozhakova, its Executive Director. Some of the participants joined the meeting in a remote format.
At the meeting, the board of the branch was elected, and Pavel Bogateev, a graduate of the electrical engineering faculty of UGTU (now the Ural Energy Institute of Ural Federal University) and deputy director of BM Kaz Group LLP, became its chairman.
The participants also approved the composition of the chapter and discussed the work plan for 2024-2025.
“I would like to thank the Board of the Kazakhstan Alumni Association of UPI, UrSU, and UrFU for supporting the initiative of alumni living in the Kostanay region to establish a branch. The office’s opening will be an important step in the development of our association, strengthen ties between alumni living in this region, and allow us to realize new projects and initiatives. I am sure that cooperation with the Kazakhstan Alumni Association branch in the Kostanay region will greatly benefit the whole region. First of all, it concerns the training of qualified personnel and implementation of advanced developments of our scientists in industry,” notes Alexander Ponomaryov, Executive Director of the Alumni Association.
