UrFU Delegation Showcases Educational Opportunities at Azerbaijan Exhibition

On September 20-21, the Russian House in Baku hosted the annual Grand Fair of Russian Universities, where more than 25 leading higher education institutions from different regions of Russia presented their potential. Ural Federal University was represented by Evgeniya Saburova, head of the International Marketing Office, and Yulia Popova, head of the Admissions Center.

The Fair was opened by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikhail Evdokimov, who emphasized the importance of strengthening Russian-Azerbaijani educational ties and the advantages of Russian education.

Diana Huseynzade, head of the Russian Studies Center Scientific-Research Laboratory of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, the main UrFU partner-university in Azerbaijan, stressed the importance of studying Russian culture for Azerbaijani students and strengthening friendly relations between the peoples of Russia and Azerbaijan.

During the 2 days of the Fair, the visitors represented by students and teachers of Azerbaijanian education institutions, pupils and their parents, got acquainted with Ural Federal University and the city of Ekaterinburg, got detailed information about UrFU programs and admissions requirements, learning and living conditions. The greatest interest was caused by a wide range of UrFU degree programs in English, the new world-class campus, and the big and active Association of Azerbaijani students at the university.

“Such interest can only please us. I think that we will work very productively during these two days in Baku. A lot of students came, students who were already oriented to a certain educational program. I am very glad that many of them were interested in engineering because it is a priority for us. We have been educating engineering specialists for more than a hundred years. We have admissions for full-time, part-time, and distance learning, and this year a new huge campus is waiting for students, which has many advantages. By the way, we have many students from Azerbaijan, we even have our student diaspora”, says Yulia Popova.

The exhibition became an excellent platform to get acquainted with Russian education and research potential and to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

Within the framework of the Fair, a round table of representatives of Russian and Azerbaijani universities on the organization of a Scientific Conference dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 in 2025 was held.
