Significance of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan in the Modern Era discussed

Aligarh : The Centre for Professional Development of Urdu Teachers (Urdu Academy), Aligarh Muslim University organised a seminar on the theme “Significance of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan in the Modern Era”.

The Chief Guest, Professor Shafey Kidwai, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, AMU, emphasised the importance of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s ideas, his respect for all cultures and focus on reformation and modern education. He introduced the audience with many books related to Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s life and contribution.

Dr. Rahat Abrar, special guest of the program, exhorted the attendees to understand Sir Syed Ahmad Khan from the primary sources and the books and articles written by him, to appreciate his thought and mission.

Professor Quamrul Hooda Faridi, Director, Urdu Academy presided over the programme and welcomed the audience. He said the purpose of the seminar is to inspire students and recognize the significant contribution made by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.

Dr. Rafiuddin, Assistant Professor, Dr. Mohammad Abu Saleh, Dr. Irfan Ahmad, Dr. Rehan Akhtar, Abdul Waheed, Shahida Shafique, Nighat and Mohd. Aneesh Ansari Samia Abedeen presented their papers in the seminar.

All participants received certificates as a token of appreciation.

Dr. Rafiuddin proposed a vote of thanks.
