RWTH Aachen University Hosts the German Conference on Neutron Scattering: Advancing Research and Collaboration
Around 200 researchers from all over Germany met at the German Neutron Scattering Conference 2024 (DN2024) in Aachen. The conference was organized by the Committee Research with Neutrons, RWTH Aachen University, and Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ). The focus was on the use of neutrons for a wide range of research topics: from energy materials to the effects of pharmaceuticals, advances in instrumentation, and the development of new neutron sources.
The importance of neutron scattering was reflected in a series of distinguished speeches, given by Dr. Wolfram Meyer-Klaucke, representing the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the project management organization DESY, Professor Andrea Kienle from the Research Department of the Ministry of Culture and Science, Dr. Margrethe Schmeer, Deputy Mayor of Aachen, Professor Astrid Lambrecht as Chair of the Board of Directors of FZ Jülich and Professor Sabine Brück-Dürkop as Vice-Rector for Human Resources Management at RWTH Aachen, as well as KFN Chair and RWTH Chair of Crystallography Professor Mirijam Zobel.
