Nanjing University Hosts President Li Xingwei of Macau University of Science and Technology
On October 14, the President of Macau University of Science and Technology, Li Xingwei, led a delegation to visit Nanjing University. Nanjing University President and Chinese Academy of Sciences Academician Tan Zhemin met with Li Xingwei and his delegation at the Xianlin Campus.
On behalf of Nanjing University, Tan Zhemin warmly welcomed the delegation from Macau University of Science and Technology. He introduced the development of Nanjing University from the aspects of school history, discipline construction, talent cultivation, open education, campus construction, etc. Tan Zhemin pointed out that Nanjing University attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with universities in Hong Kong and Macao, and has a good cooperation foundation with Macau University of Science and Technology. He hopes that the two sides can further deepen cooperation in more fields, find more cooperation opportunities, build new paths for future cooperation and development, and jointly make new and greater contributions to serving the major needs of the country.
Li Xingwei introduced the development history, school characteristics, disciplinary advantages, scientific research innovation, international exchanges and cooperation of Macau University of Science and Technology. He said that Macau University of Science and Technology and Nanjing University have a deep relationship and broad prospects for cooperation. Looking to the future development, he hopes that the two sides can further enhance the interaction and exchanges between teachers and students and strengthen cooperation in the fields of aerospace, biomedicine, ecological environment, artificial intelligence, etc.
The symposium was chaired by Ding Aijun, assistant to the president of Nanjing University. Vice presidents of Macau University of Science and Technology Tan Guangheng and Jiang Zhihong, as well as heads of relevant departments and schools of the two universities attended the symposium. Representatives of both sides conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics such as specific paths to deepen cooperation based on the characteristics and advantages of their disciplines.
During the visit, the Macau University of Science and Technology delegation visited the Nanjing University campus and the University History Museum.
