PolyU Celebrates Four Years in the Top 100 of Times Higher Education World Rankings, Positioned 84th Globally

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has been ranked 84th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025. This marks a 3-place improvement from last year and the fourth consecutive year for the University to rank within the world’s top 100 universities, affirming its influence and achievements in the global higher education sector.

Including 2,092 universities from across 115 countries and territories, the Rankings evaluate universities based on 18 performance indicators, which are grouped into five areas: Teaching, Research environment, Research quality, International outlook, and Industry. PolyU has performed commendably in several research-related indicators. In particular, the University attained full scores in “Research productivity” and “Research excellence” for the second consecutive year and is rated first in Hong Kong for “Research strength”, while also scoring highly in “Research income” as well as “Research influence”.
