Prof Moinuddin delivers lecture as an External Advisor at JK Science Congress-2024

 

Aligarh : In his role as an External Advisor for the JK Science Congress 2024, organized by the JK Science Technology and Innovation Council, Jammu and Kashmir, Professor (Dr.) Moinuddin from the Department of Biochemistry, JNMC, AMU, emphasized the vital importance of mentorship and academic collaboration in motivating young talent to explore careers in science. He stressed the necessity of adopting cutting-edge technologies, such as AI, machine learning, and biotechnological innovations, to tackle significant scientific and societal challenges, including the development of green energy solutions. The event’s Chief Guest was Ms. Sakina Itoo, Cabinet Minister for Education, Health & Medical Education, and Social Welfare in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Supporting startups, especially those led by women, with incubation centers and increased funding, will fuel innovation,” Professor Moinuddin stated, stressing the need for enhanced government funding and the private sector’s active role in R&D. He advocated for more initiatives like the Atal Innovation Mission to cultivate a culture of entrepreneurship and scientific discovery.

Professor Moinuddin called for aligning research and development efforts with the National Education Policy-2020, emphasizing that in Jammu & Kashmir, there is immense potential to leverage technology across sectors such as tourism, agriculture, and handicrafts, while empowering women-led startups. He further said; the importance of dedicated funding and technical support for maintaining research equipment, essential for advancing scientific research in the region.
