Festive Spirit: LS College Students Exhibit Professionalism and Artistic Flair at Cultural Fest!

 

Langat Singh College  hosted a vibrant cultural fest themed ” Mahaparv Chhath,” showcasing the rich traditions and cultural practices associated with this significant festival. The event aimed to not only honor the essence of Chhath Puja but also to promote cultural awareness and community spirit among students and faculty. The fest featured a variety of activities, including traditional dances, music performances, and art exhibits, each reflecting the customs related to Chhath. Students donned traditional attire, adding to the festive atmosphere, and participated in various activities  that highlighted their talents in music, dance, and drama.

One of the highlights of the fest was a special segment dedicated to the rituals of Chhath, where participants recreated the traditional offerings to the Sun God. This included singing traditional Chhath Geet and performing traditional rituals  which engaged the audience and brought them closer to the cultural significance of the festival.

The fest was inaugurated with  Principal, Prof. Om Prakash Roy lighting thevtraditinal Diwali Diyas with colleagues. In his address Prof. Roy concluded with a motivational address  emphasized the importance of preserving cultural heritage and promoting inclusivity among diverse communities. He said the cultural fest serves  as a platform for students to express their creativity while building  a sense of unity and respect for traditions. Prof. Roy said  that fest  centered around Chhat Mahaparv  is a profound expression of respect for our traditions and heritage. He said  that such cultural fests  play a crucial role in preserving cultural values and building  community spirit among students.

Praising the The cultural team on successfully organising The cultural Fest, Dr. Deepika Kumari, Department of Philosophy in his address said that participants demonstrated exceptional artistic skills, with performances that were not only entertaining but also deeply rooted in the traditions associated with the festival. The cultural team included Amrita Anupam, Manu Kumar, Md. Asrak, Anmol, Shubham, Anurag, Aditya and Abhijeet among others and for this fest were mentored by faculty members including, Dr. Rima Kumari, HoD, Botany, Dr. Sima Kumari, Dept of Botany along with Dr. Dipika Kumari.

The fest was attended by many esteemed faculty members including Prof. Gopaljee, Prof. SR Chaturvedi, Dr. Vijay Kumar, Dr. Navin Kumar, Dr. Imtiyaz, Dr. Poonam Kumari, Archana Kumari, Rishi Kumar, Satyendra Kumar among others.
