Poster competition held to explore the role of microbes

ALIGARH : The American Society of Microbiology, in collaboration with the Aligarh Chapter of the Hospital Infection Society India (HISI), hosted a poster-making competition on the theme, “Imagining a World without Microbes” with an objective to engage participants in exploring the critical role microbes play in our ecosystem and in our daily lives.

The team of Talha Noor, Syed Kabir Haider Zaidi and Nosheen Neyazi emerged as the winner, while the team comprising Aryan Pratap Singh, Gopal Singh and Md. Sajjad was declared the runner up. The team of Abu Nasar, Aiman Fatima and Misbah Khan was placed as second runner up.

Prof. Fatima Khan, Secretary, HISI Aligarh Chapter said that the event was organized with a unique theme to emphasize on the fact that we need to live with harmony with the microbes which are our ancestors in this world.

She said that the competition attracted a diverse group of participants forming 15 teams with each team having 3 members.

Dr. Shahbaz Faridi, Department of Surgery and Dr. Tabassum Nawab, Department of Community Medicine judged the competition.

Prof. Nazish Fatima, Chairperson, Department of Microbiology congratulated the winners and felicitated them with cash prizes and certificates.
