Speech competition organized on Sir Syed’s legacy

ALIGARH  : The Literary Society of Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University organized a speech competition on “Sir Syed Ahmed Khan: A Pioneer of Modern Education” as part of the commemorative celebration of Sir Syed’s 207th birth anniversary.

The competition was open to all bonafide students of the Women’s College.

Basra Hasan Rizvi won the first prize while the second prize was shared by Afra Kauser and Omaira Javed. The third prize was also shared by Naaz Khan and Aliza Habeeb.

Dr. Fauzia Faridi (Department of English), Dr. Ali Imran Usmani (Department of Urdu) and Dr. Shagufta (Department of Sanskrit) judged the competition.

More than 25 students participated in the competition ad presented insightful perspectives on Sir Syed’s legacy, emphasizing his role as a beacon of modern education and social reform.

The President of the Women’s College Literary Society, Kulsum Zehra welcomed the guests and participants, while Geetika Sharma and Basra Hasan Rizvi conducted the proceedings.

The Vice President, Ayesha Yusuf Ansari thanked the teachers-in-charge Dr. Sarwar Sajid, Dr. Shagufta Niyaz, Dr. Shagufta Anjum, Dr. Sadaf Fareed and Dr. Shakira Khatoon for their guidance and support.
