Cyber Crime Awareness Programme Held at Sr. Secondary School (Girls)
Aligarh : The Advanced Centre for Women’s Studies at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), in collaboration with Project Umeed Welfare Foundation organised a one-day workshop on Securing Public Spaces and Cyber Crime Awareness at Senior Secondary School (girls), AMU. This initiative aimed to educate students on emerging cyber threats and foster responsible online behaviour.
The workshop covered crucial safety practices, such as using strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and recognising suspicious links. The interactive session included a lively Q&A, where students raised concerns on topics like social media safety, online gaming, and data privacy, receiving expert guidance.
The event featured guests, including Shrimati Mamta Kuril (SP, Crime), Adil Jawahar (President, Umeed Welfare Foundation), Dr. Sheeraz Ahmad, and Dr. Tauseef Fatima from the Advanced Centre for Women’s Studies, AMU. These experts addressed crucial issues such as identity theft, phishing, cyberbullying, and online fraud, using case studies to illustrate how personal data can be vulnerable to exploitation if not properly protected.
Principal Mrs. Naghma Irfan emphasised the growing need for digital literacy among students, underscoring its role in protecting against online risks.
