VIT-AP University Hosts its 1st International Higher Education Fair (IHEF) 2024, Connecting Students with Global Academic Opportunities

 

Amravati  –VIT-AP University today hosted its first-ever International Higher Education Fair (IHEF) 2024, bringing together prestigious educational institutions from abroad to showcase graduate, research, and professional study programs. The event, held at the university campus in Amravati, provided students with a unique opportunity to explore global academic opportunities, interact with international university representatives, and gain insights into scholarships and financial aid options available for higher education abroad. There are more than 50 universities from USA, France, Australia, Canada, Germany have participated in the fair

The fair, which commenced at 10:30 AM, was graced by several esteemed dignitaries, including the Chief Guest, Sri Nara Lokesh, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, and Human Resources Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh, and Dr. G. Viswanathan, Founder & Chancellor of VIT.

Sri Nara Lokesh, Chief Guest, Minister for IT, Electronics, and HRD, Government of Andhra Pradesh, emphasized the crucial role of higher education in shaping the future and encouraged students to pursue advanced studies. He highlighted the Andhra Pradesh government’s commitment to ensuring access to quality education for all. As part of the “Vikasit Bharat 2047” initiative by the central government, the state is aiming to make AP the one of the top states for higher education in India. Minister Nara Lokesh also commended the efforts of VIT-AP in making higher education more accessible to students across the state. He interacted with all foreign universities delegates who participated in the fair and enquired about various courses details.

Dr. G. Viswanathan, Founder & Chancellor of VIT, stated that governments must allocate more funds for higher education, noting that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 recommends that 6% of GDP be dedicated to this sector. He further pointed out that developed countries invest 5-6% of their GDP in higher education, underscoring the need for similar investment to ensure quality education and foster development. “As a leading institution in higher education, VIT-AP University is committed to providing its students with world-class opportunities. The IHEF 2024 underscores our dedication to academic excellence and global collaboration. We believe that fostering international exposure is key to developing well-rounded individuals who are equipped to lead in an interconnected world.”

The fair saw a strong turnout, with students engaging with representatives from top universities abroad and other places in India to learn about various graduate, and research programs. They also received detailed information on scholarship options, including merit-based, need-based, and country-specific funding opportunities available to international students.
