AMU team from Department of Psychology attends first national wellbeing conclave
ALIGARH : The faculty members and students from the Department of Psychology, Aligarh Muslim University attended the first National Wellbeing Conclave of Department of Higher Education organized by the IIT Hyderabad, in alignment with the Ministry of Education’s goal to enhance mental health support within higher educational institutions, and address the integrated approach for promoting positive mental health, resilience and well-being.
Shri K. Sanjay Murthy, Secretary, Ministry of Education, Government of India was the chief guest on this occasion.
The AMU delegation included the Chairman, Department of Psychology, Prof Shah Alam, Prof Roomana Siddiqui, Coordinator, Student’s Counseling Centre and the student representatives Shafaq Usmani and Maruf Dawar.
Prof Shah Alam said that the conclave brought together educators, mental health professionals and students from across India to address crucial aspects of mental wellness in higher education. The event featured a wellbeing exhibition, technical sessions, and hands-on workshops focused on fostering resilience, reducing stigma, and creating healthier, supportive campus environments.
The AMU team actively participated in the interactive sessions and workshops, and gained knowledge and practical skills.
