MEDIQUIZ 2024 Honours World Immunisation and National Diabetes Days at AMU

Aligarh:  To mark World Immunisation Day (November 10) and National Diabetes Day (November 14), Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JNMCH) at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) hosted an inter-departmental quiz competition, “MEDIQUIZ 2024.” The event, held from November 13-14, was led by Prof. Uzma Eram, Chairperson of the Department of Community Medicine.

The competition started with preliminary round on November 13, featuring 17 teams from different departments. The top five teams advanced to the final round, which took place on November 14 in the Department of Community Medicine’s Seminar Room. The quiz was designed to boost clinical and public health knowledge among Junior Residents, with a special focus on immunisation and diabetes, while encouraging inter-departmental teamwork.

The winners of MEDIQUIZ 2024 were: First Place awarded to Dr. Adeeba and Dr. Sangeetha from the Department of Ophthalmology, while Second Place was jointly shared by Dr. Subham and Dr. Sumendra from the Department of Pathology.

The success of the event was attributed to the organising committee, including Dr. Mohd Yasir Zubair, Dr. Karthika P, Dr. Mohammad Bilal, Dr. Ameer Ayyub, Dr. Anchal Negi, and Dr. Chandramouli Mitra, under the guidance of Prof. Saira Mehnaz and Prof. Uzma Eram, who ensured a smooth and well-coordinated event.

The final round was judged by panel consisting of Prof. Nazish Fatima, Chairperson of the Department of Microbiology; Dr. Ali Jafar Abedi, MIC, UHTC, Department of Community Medicine; and Dr. Mohammad Salman Shah, Department of Community Medicine.

Trophies were presented to the winners by Dr. Tabassum Nawab and Prof. Nazish Fatima. In her closing remarks, Prof. Uzma Eram expressed her appreciation to the judges, faculty, residents, and non-teaching staff for their support.

MEDIQUIZ 2024 concluded positively, leaving participants inspired and eager for future opportunities for academic collaboration.
