IIIT-Delhi Team Wins Innovation Award at 2024 AMR Surveillance Data Challenge

New Delhi — Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) is proud to announce that its research team has been awarded the prestigious Innovation Award in the 2024 AMR Surveillance Data Challenge. This global competition, sponsored by the Global Antibiotic Research and Development Partnership (GARDP), Paratek Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, and Vivli, recognizes outstanding achievements in data-driven approaches to combat Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).

Led by Prof. Tavpritesh Sethi and supported by team member Jasmin Kaur, the project, titled “AMROrbit Scorecard: A Dynamic Phase Space Model for Strategic Monitoring and Actionable Insights on Global AMR Trajectories,” emerged as a standout among 56 competing teams from 27 countries. IIIT-Delhi’s team was the sole awardee from India, demonstrating the institute’s pioneering role in global AMR research and innovation.

The AMROrbit Scorecard project introduces a unique dynamic phase space model that offers strategic insights into the progression of AMR on a global scale, equipping healthcare stakeholders with actionable data to mitigate the spread of resistance. By advancing data-driven solutions in AMR surveillance, the IIIT-Delhi team has shown remarkable ingenuity and a deep commitment to addressing one of the most critical health challenges of our time.

The Innovation Award reaffirms the critical global need for actionable insights and data-driven strategies to address the escalating threat of AMR. We are honored to advance this mission through the AMROrbit Scorecard, an accessible tool crafted to leverage routine hospital and laboratory data, empowering hospitals and communities with AI-driven stewardship and surveillance against AMR.” said Prof. Tavpritesh Sethi, highlighting the significance of the award and the importance of AMR research.
