UST Yummy Aid 2024 Culinary Fest Garners Huge Success; Sale Proceeds of Rs 4.7 Lakhs Will Go for Charity Causes

Thiruvananthapuram : A wide range of delicacies took centre stage as enthusiastic employees at the UST Thiruvananthapuram campus came together yet again, for this year’s edition of Yummy Aid, the annual culinary festival-cum-fund raising event, on November 18, Monday.

The 11th edition of the annual fundraising event was organised at the UST Thiruvananthapuram Campus by NowU (Network of Women USsociates) an internal volunteer organization that facilitates the development and executive mentoring of the company’s women employees.

Yummy Aid 2024 went on to be a grand success with the wholehearted participation of employees at the campus, who brought home-cooked food and put them on display and sale. The event saw participation of 27 teams, and over 6000 USsociates visiting the stalls. The funds, over four lakhs and seventy thousand rupees (Rs 4.7 Lakhs), collected through the sale of the food will be utilised for uplifting women and children facing socio-economic challenges. Apart from this, NowU will be collaborating with UST’s Color Rose Team to support various other social causes with their upcoming activities.

The food set on display and sale was judged by a panel of guests, Chef Suresh from O by Tamara; Sukil Ram, Chef of Poomaram Kitchen; and Gouri Krishna, Senior Nutritionist & Health Coach, who announced the winners.

The winning teams are:

Team Wellness Warriors Telco emerged as champions and IS Warriors as runners-up for the Wellness Warriors challenge.

“It’s been a day of mouth-watering dishes, fierce competition and heart-warming charity, as Yummy Aid 2024 turned out to be a grand success. The spirit displayed by participants and the home-made dishes they had set up for sale, were outstanding. I’m happy that Yummy Aid, which is into its 11th year, carries the same amount of enthusiasm as it had during the inaugural year,” said Sumeetha Madhaviamma, UST NowU Thiruvananthapuram Lead.

Last year’s (2023) Yummy Aid proceeds, amounting to Rs 4,10,000, were donated to the Pediatric Nephrocare ICU at SAT Hospital.
