Applications Open for Ph.D. Admissions at Central University of Kerala
Kasaragod: The Central University of Kerala has announced the opening of applications for admission to Ph.D. Programme for the academic year 2024-2025.
Ph.D. vacancies are available across various disciplines. The number of seats in each discipline is as follows: English (4), Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (18), Genomic Science (20), Plant Science (10), Zoology (7), Commerce and International Business (8), Management Studies (4), Tourism Studies (10), Environmental Science (9), Geology (5), Economics (8), Education (11), International Relations and Politics (11), Hindi (7), Kannada (5), Linguistics (9), Malayalam (5), Law (7), Public Health and Community Medicine (10), Yoga (7), Chemistry (13), Computer Science (17), Mathematics (8), Physics (15), Public Administration and Policy Studies (5), and Social Work (10).
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must hold one of the following qualifications:
- A two-year/four-semester Master’s degree after a three-year Bachelor’s programme, with at least 55% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade.
- A one-year/two-semester Master’s degree after a four-year Bachelor’s programme, with at least 55% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade.
- A four-year Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 75% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade.
- An M.Phil. degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade.
- Equivalent qualifications from an accredited foreign educational institution.
A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade is applicable for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer), differently abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and other categories as per UGC guidelines.
Applicants must also meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Junior Research Fellowship of UGC/CSIR/INSPIRE/NBHM/CEED/KSCSTE/ICCR or any similar agency recommended by DRC or a pass in national level tests such as NET/GATE etc.
- NET Score in the following categories;
Admission to Ph.D. without JRF and appointment as Assistant Professor
Admission to Ph.D. only and not for the award of JRF or appointment as Assistant Professor
