KLK Ventures Joins JAKEDA’s PM-KUSUM Awareness Program to Empower Farmers in Jammu
Delhi – KLK Ventures Private Limited, a pioneer in renewable energy solutions, played an active role in the Kisan Mela and PM-KUSUM Awareness Programme organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA). Held on November 11 and 12, 2024, in District R.S. Pura and Samba in Jammu City, the two-day event was a significant step toward educating local farmers about solar irrigation systems and facilitating their registration under the PM-KUSUM Scheme’s Components B and C.
The program witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Dr. B.N. Tripathi, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST Jammu, and Saurabh Bhagat, Commissioner Secretary of the Department of Science & Technology, along with Dr. P.R. Dhar, CEO of JAKEDA, and other senior officials. Their involvement underscored the importance of the initiative in promoting renewable energy adoption and empowering agricultural communities in the region.
KLK Ventures made a strong impact at the event through its hands-on approach. The company established a dedicated registration desk and showcased live working models of solar pumps, enabling farmers to visualise and comprehend the benefits of solar irrigation systems. Representatives from KLK Ventures provided detailed demonstrations, highlighting how these systems could enhance irrigation efficiency, reduce reliance on conventional energy sources, and cut down on electricity costs.
The event also included success stories and testimonials from farmers who had already benefited from the PM-KUSUM Scheme. These farmers shared insights into how solar pumps had transformed their agricultural practices, leading to increased productivity and significant cost savings on irrigation. KLK Ventures distributed informative pamphlets outlining the scheme’s subsidy structure, registration process, and eligibility criteria, ensuring that attendees had all the necessary information at their fingertips.
To further support farmers, KLK’s team provided on-site consultations, addressing their queries and guiding them through the registration process. This personalised assistance emphasised KLK’s commitment to ensuring that more farmers can seamlessly access the benefits of the PM-KUSUM Scheme.
Under the PM-KUSUM Scheme, Component B provides solar-powered pumps up to 10 HP for irrigation with a 50% subsidy from MNRE, a 30% subsidy from the J&K government, and a 20% contribution from farmers. Component C focuses on the solarization of grid-connected pumps, enabling farmers to export excess energy to the grid and benefit from energy generation under the same subsidy structure.
During the event, several farmers raised concerns about the complexity of the registration and installation process, requesting simplifications for quicker approvals. KLK Ventures assured farmers of its continued efforts to work closely with JAKEDA and other stakeholders to streamline these processes and extend the scheme’s benefits to a larger farming community.
Akshat Jain, CEO of KLK Ventures, shared his thoughts on the initiative, stating, “At KLK Ventures, we believe that empowering farmers with renewable energy solutions is crucial for sustainable agricultural growth. The PM-KUSUM Scheme offers a transformative opportunity for farmers to adopt solar technology, reduce costs, and increase productivity. We are proud to collaborate with JAKEDA in spreading awareness and guiding farmers to take full advantage of this scheme. Together, we can drive a greener, more prosperous future for our agricultural communities.”
KLK Ventures remains dedicated to empowering farmers across Jammu and Kashmir by promoting renewable energy adoption. The company encourages farmers to reach out for assistance in registering and installing solar pumps under the PM-KUSUM Scheme, driving a sustainable and self-reliant future for the agricultural sector.
