Opportunities abound, yet we navigate a VUCA world, volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous, demanding adaptability and resilience for success: Mr. Sudhir Chaturvedi, President, LTIMindtree
Hyderabad : The Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM) hosted the 30th Convocation with solemn grandeur at Bachupally campus of the Institute, today. The event was attended by President and Executive Board Member of LTIMindtree, Mr. Sudhir Chaturvedi, as Chief Guest.
In his address Mr. Sudhir Chaturvedi said, let me add a few more personal aspects to the intro. I did 2 MBAs mainly because I spent the first one falling in love. However, I did get a Distinction by studying her notes. I did an MBA in Finance and Information Systems at Leeds University to become a Trader and the only thing I learnt was that I should stick to Marketing. Therein lies a lesson – God gives you some superpowers, use them. I have since studied at Duke, Harvard, Stanford and Wharton. I believe in lifelong learning.
I wish I could tell you all that there are boundless opportunities out there for you. However, the pragmatist in me must tell you that we face increasingly uncertain times. We are in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) world. We face several geopolitical crises, a climate crisis, a potential demographic crisis, an energy crisis and AI led disruptions. Each crisis represents a threat and an opportunity. Don’t get me wrong, there are opportunities but it’s not going to be easy. You will have to fight. I would like to share a few things that all of us can be to help us seize these boundless opportunities. He said for his success the following principles played a major role and shared them with the students- He said, Be curious, Be mindful of your superpower and use it responsibly, Be courageous, Be Unreasonable, Be Focused, Be Energetic (Positively Energetic), Be Interesting and Be the Peacemaker, Be known as the person who gets things done, Be the one to make a difference, Be Healthy.
The Director, VJIM, Prof. Bharat Bhushan Singh in his welcome address briefed the achievements of the institution and welcomed Vignana Jyothi dignitaries, graduating students and their parents. Rajasekhar, Vice President, Vignana Jyothi; said, as we look towards the future, it is imperative to address the pressing issues that are shaping the landscape of business, industry, and management education in 2024. The rapid adoption of generative AI is transforming business operations, from customer service to human resources, and it is crucial for our graduates to be adept at leveraging these technologies, he said. Cybersecurity remains a top priority as businesses face increasing threats from cyber-attacks. VJIM is currently among the top private business schools in South India, and I fervently aspire for VJIM to become one of the most sought-after business schools, not only in our country but also among students worldwide.
