Group art exhibition “MERAKI” begins at Moinuddin Ahmad Art Gallery
ALIGARH : The Moinuddin Ahmad Art Gallery, Aligarh Muslim University is organizing a group exhibition, “Meraki – Manifestation of Sub-consciousness,“ of nine artists, which began on November 22, who have delved into the hidden depths of human experience.
Prof. Badar Jahan, Coordinator, Moinuddin Ahmad Art Gallery stated that the Greek term ‘Meraki’, meaning the infusion of one’s soul, creativity and love, bridges the conscious and subconscious, urging viewers to look beyond the surface and engage with the soul of each piece.
She added that the exhibition is a celebration of imagination, courage and connection, and it embodies the idea, reimagining the world through diverse artistic lenses.
Highlighting the exhibition’s content, Prof Jahan said that Hina’s vibrant fusion of colors and textures, Danish’s exploration of identity and memory, Faizullah’s methodical pursuit of deeper truths of man and nature, Atiya’s floral description of nature, Abeera’s raw, narrative-driven paintings capturing unspoken realities, Aditi’s delicate depictions of the warmth of her personal space and Tayyab’s experimental postmodern pieces challenging conventional narratives, connect with human emotions and concerns which invite introspection and a path of self-realization echoing Marcel Duchamp’s view of art that “Art is a game between all people of all periods.”
She informed that the exhibition will be open for all until November 29.
