AMU Faculty and a Scholar delivers Lecture at SymMET2024

Aligarh : Dr. Huzaifa Yasir Khan, faculty member at Department of Chemistry, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), delivered an online lecture for early career researchers at the International Symposium of the Spanish METALBIO Network (SymMET2024) on November 25. Held in Madrid, Spain, the symposium brought together global experts to explore the intersection of metals and biological systems, fostering innovative research and collaborations.

Dr. Huzaifa’s lecture, titled “Functionalized Graphene Oxide Loaded Ionic Tolfenamate Complexes as Rationally Designed Vehicles for Cancer-Targeted Drug Delivery,” was appreciated. He discussed the dual role of metal ions in biological systems, emphasizing their therapeutic potential and challenges in drug delivery and environmental sustainability.

Additionally, Dr. Mohammad Fawad Ansari, a postdoctoral scholar presented a flash talk on metal ions embedded in bioactive scaffold ligands and their role in disease intervention.

SymMET2024 served as a platform for engaging discussions on challenges and opportunities in metal-biological research, emphasizing international collaboration to address global health concerns such as metal-related diseases and environmental pollution.
