Annual conference WOUNDCON held at AMU
ALIGARH: The Department of Surgery, J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University organized the 26th annual conference of Indian Society of Wound Management, WOUNDCON-2024, with the theme “From basics to biological,” which aimed at increasing understanding the pathophysiology of wound, application of standard practices and new techniques and advancement in wound management around the globe.
In her presidential remarks, Dean, Faculty of Medicine and Principal and CMS, JNMC, Prof. Veena Maheshwari appreciated the efforts of the organisers and underscored the importance of specialised wound care for better patient outcome.
Prof. Atia Zakaur Rab, Chairperson, Department of Surgery emphasized the importance of such academic events and encouraged participants to engage actively in the discussions.
Earlier, the Organizing Chairperson, Prof. Afzal Anees welcomed the guests and participants.
The Organising Secretary, Dr. Meraj Ahmed said that a series of plenary sessions, online lectures, panel discussions, and paper and poster presentations were made during the conference, along with special workshops and interactive sessions which were conducted on wound dressing, stoma care and negative pressure wound therapy.
He said that more than 60 delegates, including resident doctors, under graduate medical and paramedical students and other industry experts attended the conference and received practical insights from the reputed national and international faculty members and resource persons who shared clinical and scientific data borne experience in the field of surgery and allied branches in solving the problems related to wound management.
