Star Health Insurance Settles Rs. 3330 Crore in Claims in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Demonstrating Strong Commitment

Hyderabad : Star Health Insurance, India’s largest standalone retail health insurance company, has solidified its position in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana with close to 100 branches, a strong network of over 76,000 agents covering over 8.17 lakh lives and more than 1350 employees. The Company has impressively paid out over Rs. 3330 crore in claims in the last 5 years in AP & TG, demonstrating its mission of delivering comprehensive and accessible healthcare solutions to its diverse population. The Company targets to double business in the next 4 years in the state of AP & TG.

Star Health Insurance’s commitment to the states of AP & TG is also reflected in the Rs. 920 crore worth of claims paid in FY24 and Rs. 3330 crore settled claims in the last five years. Since its inception, Star Health Insurance has paid out over 1.1 crore claims, amounting to a total of Rs. 52,000 crore. The company processes Rs. 25 crore worth of claims daily, approving 4 claims every minute.

Adopted State of AP

In line with IRDAI’s mission of ‘Insurance for All’ Star Health Insurance has adopted the state of Andhra Pradesh for the penetration and awareness of insurance. The state insurance awareness drive has so far covered a total of 4035 Gram Panchayats, touching thousands of lives in terms of insurance awareness and organised multiple health camps. The Company has recently launched CSR initiative “Star Arogya Digi Seva” will build a bridge between the healthcare gaps in rural India by combining telemedicine with Mobile Health Units to offer doorstep healthcare services and is targeting at 2 aspirational districts of Andhra Pradesh i.e. Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram. The program will focus on non-communicable diseases, drive awareness of diabetes, hypertension management and iron nutrition awareness.

Star Health Insurance launched its Home Healthcare Service in AP & TG, currently available in HyderabadSecunderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Kakinada, Tirupati and Nellore. This service allows customers to access affordable, high-quality healthcare from the comfort of their homes, ensuring seamless claims.

Star Health Insurance has many innovative products and services, namely the “Special Care Gold” policy in Braille, designed specifically for individuals with 40% or more disability, ensuring that visually impaired individuals can independently access vital information about their health insurance.
