Amity University Haryana Awarded With Leed Green Building Certification In The Platinum Category

Gurgaon: At a glittering ceremony, Amity University Haryana was awarded by US Green Building Council (USGBC) with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certificate in the Platinum category, the highest category for environmental energy and environmental design operation and maintenance. Amity University Haryana is the only organization in India to have achieved this certification for energy and environmental compliance and second in the whole of Asia to have achieved this distinction, it may be added that Amity University Haryana has 110 acres of lush green campus, where energy efficiency and environmental sustainability are the major hall marks of the campus design.
A remarkable achievement has been wherein Amity University Haryana is making extensive use of water harvesting, thereby protecting the environment to the fullest.
While addressing the impressive gathering Dr Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University Haryana said “It is a proud moment for Amitians and for the whole nation that AUH is awarded with Platinum Certificate by LEED USA”.
Dr Chauhan also welcomed the freshers on the third day of their orientation ceremony and said “students, I want to give you one great advice for the college life i.e Study Hard, Work Hard & Enjoy yourself.”
In his address Prof (Dr) P B Sharma, Vice Chacellor of Amity University Haryana said, “students, you belong to a special class as most of you are going to pass out in year 2020 which is also forecasted a the revolutionary year by most of the eminent personalities of the nation.”
He went on to add that Amity University Haryana is fully committed towards and health and environmental issues.
The event was attended by a galaxy of eminent personalities like Dr Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor AUH, Ajay Chauhan, Hon’ble Trustee, RBEF, Mr Gopalkrishnan Padmanabham, Director GBCI (Green Business Certification Inc.), Ashish K Jain Partner – AEON, Rakesh Jain, VP – Construction, Bhushan Bajaj, Director & Executive – Senior VP, Amity Group, Shri B S Ahluwalia, Maj Gen B S Suhag (Retd), Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof Padmakali Banerjee, Pro Vice Chancellor, Maj Gen G S Bal (Retd), DSW, S K Singh, Director Administration, head of the institutions and the faculty members in good number were present during the ceremony at Amity University Haryana.
