Tata Power’s TPSDI Maithon launches industrial training courses for engineering students
Dhanbad: Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, has always undertaken several initiatives aimed at offering necessary employability skills to improve the quality of life and uplift the economic conditions of the surrounding community. In line with this commitment, Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI) in Maithon has launched the first industrial training courses for diploma and degree engineering students.
These courses are designed and imparted with an aim to bridge the gap between the theoretical knowledge acquired by a fresh engineer during the academics and the industry exposure. The most distinctive aspect of these training centres is that it provides hands-on training that helps the trainees to get a foothold in the power and allied sectors. The soft skills module ensures all-round development of the trainees. In addition, trainees are also given inputs for overall personality development. TPSDI ensures corporate-friendly atmosphere in the campus, and proactively identifies and partners with organisations which can provide employment to the trainees. Throughout the training process, trainees are provided continuous career counselling and mentoring to prepare them for recruitments. TPSDI Maithon, started in 2016, has so far trained more than 1,400 freshers and technicians.
