Aspirational District B’la gets Rs 8.32 Crore from NHPC under CSR-SD 2019-20

Baramulla: To scale up anti-Corona activities, Aspirational district Baramulla got Rs 8.32 crore from National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), Uri under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) component of funding. The amount has been used for purchasing various specialized medical equipments including ventilators which are of immense help in saving precious lives during COVID-19 pandemic.
In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo and General Manager Uri Power Station NHPC, Khalid Umar.
Giving details, the DC said that the amount was used for purchasing various specialized medical equipments including High End Ultra Sound machines, electric operator table, Advanced Dental Chair, Opthalmic Operating Microscope, X-Ray, ECG Machines and were subsequently supplied to various health institutions of the district. He also said that such an initiative proved very beneficial for administration, battling COVID-19 pandemic.
Pertinently, under CSR, NHPC undertakes various welfare initiatives ranging from sanitation works, skill development to developing high density orchards, modernization of horticulture nurseries. The organization also undertakes various measures which aim at upgrading the socio-economic conditions of the downtrodden.
