Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu distributes dry ration to 1100 needy families
Chandigaeh: The Health and Family Welfare Minister, Punjab, Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu today undertook the initiative of distributing dry ration packets to the 1100 needy families in phase – 6 and Sector – 70. These packets contain oil, rice, atta, and other items of daily use.
On the occasion, the minister said that extending a helping hand to needy sections in this hour of crisis is the social obligation of everyone. He said that the poor and needy sections would not be made to face shortage of essential supplies in the wake of curfew imposed owing to corona virus. He also exhorted the people to stay indoors, step out only when absolutely necessary, follow social distancing guidelines, wash their hands and exercise every precaution to defeat corona virus.
Among other dignitaries present on the occasion included the Chairman Cooperative Bank Mohali Mr. Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu, Political Secretary to the Health Minister –Mr. Harkesh Chand Sharma Machhli Kalan, Vice President District Congress Committee Baljit Kaur, Mr. Rajinder Singh Chahal, Ex Councillor Mr. Surinder Rajput, Advocate Ripudaman Singh and Mr. Pyara Singh.
