DDC Doda reviews functioning of RDD; Directs for resuming MGNREGA works
Doda: District Development Commissioner, Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode today convened a meeting of Block Development Officers and directed them to resume various development works under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
The DDC informed that during the pandemic, MGNREGA is going to play an important role in providing the employment to the rural people across the district. He said that as the hundreds of migrant labourers are returning to the district, they are going to stay for a long time here and MGNREGA scheme is going to be the main source of livelihood for them.
The DDC while reviewing the present status of number of active job card holders across the district directed the concerned authorities to increase the number of job card holders, besides asking them to lay special focus on the disadvantaged groups of the district i.e. SC’s & ST’s.
The DDC also directed the officials to identify the priority wards in their respective blocks and accordingly the works shall be taken up in those wards providing maximum benefits to the disadvantaged groups in the rural areas.
ACD Doda informed that current financial plan has been finalized and stands approved and will be started in the upcoming days as soon as the plan will be uploaded on secure soft.
The DDC directed the ACD to upload the plan on secure soft within one week so that the works will be started without any delay and also directed them to complete the target of approved PD’s within the time period of three months.
Besides progress under PMAY-G, Adhaar seeding, Adhaar Based Payment, completion of SOS works, closing of all works physically and financially completed etc were also discussed during the meeting.
The meeting was attended by ADC Doda, ACD Doda, Executive Engineer REW, All BDO’S besides other officials of rural development department were also present.
