International Webinar on Invisible Opportunities Post Covid-19
Aligarh: “No pandemic, how deadly it might be can get the better of human resilience as the black plague and Spanish flu bear testimony to the fact. Covid-19 is no exception, and the technology-driven modern world soon would convert it into an opportunity” said Professor Tariq Mansoor, Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). He was inaugurating a webinar on “Invisible opportunities post Covid-19”, organised by the department of commerce, Aligarh Muslim University, which was addressed by eminent academicians across the globe.
The panelists for the Live Webinar were Professor Said Malki, (Department of Economics, the State University of New York at New Paltz and the Member of the American Economic Association), Dr Mohammad Rishad Faridi (Department of Marketing, Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Mr Paul Epping (Chairman and co-founder of EQxponential, United Arab Emirates, Dubai) and Ms Veronica Vazeri (Gender Communication Educator, and certified Relationship Coach, United Kingdom).
The Webinar started with the welcome address of Professor Nawab Ali Khan, Chairman, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, who introduced the panelists. Professor Imran Saleem, Dean, Faculty of Commerce, AMU, Aligarh moderated the session.
Professor Said Malki discussed the Corona pandemic in the United States and how it would affect the future of the US economy. He also highlighted the expectations and possibilities of a recession in different parts of the world.
Dr Mohd Rishad Faridi brought forth the consumer perspective and meticulously delineated the opportunities that post Covid-19 scenario would offer. He discussed the issue of Technology disruption and challenges in the emerging markets, particularly in China.
Mr Paul Epping went into the future of the world from a technological point of view. He highlighted the importance of exponential technologies in the next decade. The role of Artificial Intelligence both in the time of pandemic and post-pandemic and its linkage with robotics was discussed by Paul.
Ms Veronica explained the changing dynamics of the relationship in a family by the introduction of work from home with a specific example. She thrashed about communication barriers and areas of opportunities. The panelists responded to the questions of the participants.
The live Webinar ended with the vote of thanks by Dr Mohd Nayyer Rahman, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. One hundred participants attended the Webinar, and it was put live on YouTube.
