Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Bhubaneswar Provides Food Items and Study Materials to its 30000 Students
Bhubaneswar: Days before the nationwide lockdown, around 30000 students of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Bhubaneswar were sent back to their homes in their respective villages. As a result, the students had not got their textbooks for this academic year. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS, who has always put the education of these tribal students above everything else, arranged for the study materials and dried food items to be provided at the students’ doorsteps.
On behalf of KISS, Flattened Rice, Sugar, Dal, Biscuit, Soap, Textbooks and allied study materials have been provided to students of all classes of KISS. As per the instruction of Dr. Samanta, the staff and teachers of KISS have been working on this plan since last 15 days. Today, these materials were sent to all the KISS students in different districts of Odisha by 25 buses in the presence of Dr. Samanta, Shri R. N. Dash, Secretary, KIIT & KISS and Dr. P. K. Routary, CEO, KISS.
The materials will be handed over to the guardians of the students at specific places. Showering profuse praise on KISS and its Founder Dr. Samanta, the guardians remarked that Dr. Samanta not only has thought of imparting education to our children, but has taken such a magnanimous initiative in sending study materials and food items to us. They expressed their gratitude to the institute and Dr. Samanta.
In fact, during the lockdown period, KISS Management has been continuing its best possible measures to provide teaching to all KISS students by means of Digital Technology like Online and Smart-phones.
