Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu emphasizes robust healthcare infrastructure to combat corona virus
In keeping with the objectives of Mission Fateh to ensure adequate healthcare facilities so as to effectively combat corona virus, the Health and Family Welfare Minister, Punjab, Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu today laid the foundation stone of a Mother and Child Care Hospital in the complex of Civil Hospital Kharar.
In his address on the occasion, the minister said that it would be a 50 bedded hospital and would come up at a cost of Rs. 10 Crore.
He further divulged that the hospital would be well equipped with modern equipments and Registration, 4 OPDs, Family Planning Room, Diagnostic Departments such as Ultra Sound, ECG, Immunization, Dressing/Injection Room and Pharmacy would occupy the ground floor while 2 Operation Theatres, 2 Delievery Rooms, Nursery, Pre Delievery, Recovery Ward, Doctor Room, Nurse Room, Changing Room and ASHA Room would be on the first floor.
Elaborating more, he said that the SNCU Area, Ward with 28 Beds, Nursing Station, Baby Feed Area, 2 Private Rooms, Lift No. 2, Washrooms on every floor, Stairs and Sub Station would be on the 2nd floor.
He further added that the newly built 30 bedded MCH hospitals at SDH Dasuya (District Hoshiarpur), Samana, Rajpura (Patiala), Khanna( Ludhiana), Nakodar (Jalandhar) and Pathankot to be made fully functional by the next month. He also exhorted the people to follow social distancing guidelines and take health related precautions as per the protocol of the Health Department.
On the occasion, the Political Secretary to the minister– Harkesh Chand Sharma Machhli Kalan, SDM Himanshu Jain, Civil Surgeon, S. A. S. Nagar Dr. Manjit Singh, SP (Rural) Ravjot Kaur Grewal and Yadwinder Singh Kang (Son of ex MLA Jagmohan Singh Kang) were also present.
