Aligarh Muslim University , Dept of Social work organises webinar
Aligarh: The Department of Social Work, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in collaboration with the Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) and Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to organise a webinar ‘Strategies for Managing Personal Finance During and After Covid-19’ in which experts discussed methods for planning the upcoming financial year and where to keep savings in the wake of an uncertain economic scenario.
Presiding over the inaugural session, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor stressed the need for financial planning during Covid-19 spread and advised the participants to take lead from the resource persons for re-strategising financial planning.
Delivering the welcome address, Prof Akbar Husain, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences spoke about how the Coronavirus outbreak has changed the dynamics of savings and investments.
In the keynote address, Mr Surya Kant Sharma, Senior Consultant- North India, AMFI delineated various strategies for financial planning, financial management during active life and post-retirement and usefulness of investing in Mutual Funds.
Whereas Ms Laxmi A Rampurawala, AGM-SEBI spoke about how the webinar will open avenues for participants in managing the finances and the role of social work in spreading awareness in rural and disadvantaged sections for dilution of apprehensions over financial insecurity.
Dr Naseem Ahmad Khan, Chairperson, Department of Social Work, extended the vote of thanks. Over 198 participants registered for the webinar.
