Real Estate Project Management Workshop conducted by the REMI in collaboration with The Project Management Institute (PMI)
Mumbai: The introduction of the recently implemented Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, RERA 2016 is transforming the real estate sector into a tightly controlled and regulated Industry. As real estate companies align their business practices to meet the stipulations of the Act, a critical area of focus is to enhance their delivery capabilities through effective project management.
Description: Description: C:\Users\Admin\Desktop\REMI\new remi logo.jpgThe Real Estate Management Institute (REMI) in collaboration with The Project Management Institute in Mumbai (PMI) launched a uniquely designed one-day Real Estate Project Management (REPM) Workshop that focuses on building the requisite project management skills in line with the requirements of the Act. The program was conducted by notable industry speakers like Tejas Sura, Managing Director, Conart Engineers Limited and Jacob Sachariahas, Vice President Certification Training at PMI.
On the association, Shubika Bilkha, Business Head, The Real Estate Management Institute (REMI) stated, “We are extremely happy on our association the Project Management Institute and it’s through optimal project management practices that the developers will be able to deliver in time. Hence this we have come together to design a course that caters to the current of the industry and helps developers to meet their commitments in time”.

Bhagat PMP , President, Project Management Institute – Mumbai Chapter stated, “The first Project Management in Real Estate workshop conducted by the Project Management Institute – Mumbai Chapter held in collaboration with the Real Estate Management Institute (REMI) is a much needed and timely initiative in real estate education. Given the strict RERA stipulations and timelines, it is imperative for real estate professionals to learn the science of project management and the Project Management Institute – Mumbai Chapter and REMI are stepping in to meet the requirement. This first workshop was a move in the right direction.
The program covered topics like outlining the scope of the project, determining the timeline for delivery, ensuring optimal management of vendors and quality control in the procurement and construction process. The program also focused on highlighting the need for project management practices to streamline communication across all the relevant teams/departments in line with the requirements of the Act.
