PMI West Bengal Chapter hosts the sixth Project Management Regional Conference 2020
Mumbai: PMI West Bengal Chapter successfully organized the 6th edition of Project Management Regional Conference (PMRC) through a virtual format on 20 & 21 June 2020. The theme for this year was “Project Management in Entrepreneurial Innovation.” With 1000 plus delegates in attendance, this was the most significant regional conference held by PMI in its history.
The conference spotlighted the rise of digitization that has resulted in the growth of entrepreneurship and innovation. Another highlight was the relevance of the Project Management Technology Quotient (PMTQ). For anyone charged with making strategy reality in a world remodelled continuously by tech, PMTQ will be the must-have, make-or-break skill set. Succinctly, it means to have a curiosity mindset, all-inclusive leadership, future-proofing talent pool, and being agile.
Dr. Srini Srinivasan, Regional Managing Director, PMI, said, “We are happy to have successfully hosted our first-ever virtual Regional Conference for the year 2020. It is heartening that so many entrepreneurs are choosing to view technology as an ally, an opportunity, rather than a threat. While knowledge of future-ready technology is essential, project management skills are a very core ingredient in the success of entrepreneurial ventures. There are skills that machines cannot replace, like managing stakeholders, problem-solving, critical thinking, leading teams with empathy, managing timelines, strategic thinking, creativity, and more. These are accomplishments that require strong project management skills. And this is what inspired the theme of the sixth Project Management Regional Conference – Project Management in Entrepreneurial Innovation.”
Mr. Sumit Sinha, President, PMI West Bengal Chapter, added, “It is a great honor to have hosted the sixth edition of PMI Regional Conference on behalf of the PMI West Bengal Chapter. It is also the second regional conference organised by the Chapter. As our Chapter takes positive, steady steps towards completing its decade long journey, we are committed to building a strong project management community in the Eastern Region. ”
