Flood protection work in Saurav Van Vihar to start in September: CS

Chief Secretary Anil Khachi presided over a review meeting regarding Saurav Van Vihar, Palampur here today with senior officers of Jal Shakti, Forest and Industries departments.

The Jal Shatki department made a detailed presentation on the works to be carried out for flood protection and its work schedule. The Forest department made a presentation on the decisions taken for the beautification of this nature park.

The Chief Secretary said that the work on flood protection would be started from 1 September, 2020 and asked the concerned departments to complete the tendering and project drawing process before this. He said that the Forest department would opt for a landscaping Architect who will be given the responsibility for landscaping of the entire area of the Saurav Van Vihar nature park.

Anil Khachi said that after the completion of landscaping work, the Forest department would start the works on lake and aqua culture development in the month of August.

He said that all the concerned departments would initiate the work on this Rs. 8.50 crore project after 1 September, 2020. He would personally review the progress on this project.
