ISB Dean Rajendra Srivastava announced that he would be transitioning to research and teaching as the Novartis Chair in Marketing Strategy and Innovation
Hyderabad: Approaching the end of his tenure as the Dean on 31 December 2020, Indian School of Business (ISB) Dean Rajendra Srivastava today announced that he would be transitioning to research and teaching as the Novartis Chair in Marketing Strategy and Innovation. He will continue with his work on Business Model Innovation and Organisational Transformation.
Addressing the faculty and staff, the Dean said, “I will, of course, be available to the Executive Board and the school to assist during the transition period for the dean search process as well as on-boarding the new Dean”. During his tenure, ISB has achieved several important milestones which include:
MBA & EMBA Program Rankings: PGP & MBA Rankings across Financial Times, Forbes, Businessweek and the Economist; the Integrated Ranking #16 Worldwide in January 2020
Accreditation: ISB is now one of the few schools in Asia, and certainly the youngest in the world, with the “triple crown” accreditation by AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA
New Programs: Enhanced the Post Graduate Programme portfolio by introducing new programs including the PGPpro for working professionals in 4 cities across the nation. Additionally, ISB pioneered the highly successful Executive Fellow Programme in Management.
Placements: ISB increased student job offers by over 50 percent.
Full time Faculty Growth: Doubled faculty strength bringing stability to ISB’s global programme delivery capabilities.
ISB will continue on its path of excellence in research, teaching and thought leadership.

Professor Rajendra Srivastava comes with an experience of over 40 years as an academic and administrator. He has held several tenured faculty and administrative positions during his career. Before joining the ISB, he was Provost and Deputy President of Academic Affairs at Singapore Management University. Prior to SMU he held distinguished research chairs and senior management positions at the University of Texas at Austin and Emory University in Atlanta. Professor Srivastava is an MBA and PhD (Business Administration) from the University of Pittsburgh, an MS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Rhode Island, and holds a BTech (Mechanical Engineering) degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
