Centurion Turns Skill University
Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha has accorded recognition to the Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) as Skill University, adding another feather to its cap.
Government of Odisha’s Department of Skill Development and Technical Education has accorded this recognition to CUTM after a rigorous process of scrutiny. A High Powered Committee consisting of Inter Departmental Officials was set up to look into the matter and after a very intense scrutiny of compliance the road was cleared for the grant of this recognition.
Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Secretary Skill Development and Technical Education has issued a Gazette Notification in this regard after the Chief Minister, Sri.Naveen Patnaik cleared the proposal, while accepting the recommendations of the Committee.
Prof. Mukti Kanta Mishra, the President of Centurion University is immensely pleased with this development and thanks the Government of Odisha for conferring such a status to the University. He is aware that this status puts greater responsibility on the University to strive for greater heights and excellence in the field of skilling. Today CUTM has a presence in several states outside of Odisha and is being lauded by other State Governments, such as, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, Assam Jharkhand and so on.
Centurion University is the first privately held Multi-Sector University in India with five campuses in Odisha. Since its inception in 2010, it has been working tirelessly in the area of Skill Development through its social entrepreneurial wing, Gram Tarang, and has been able to provide Skill Training to over 1.15 Lakh Youth and 70 Percent of them have been placed in jobs across the country.
Recently, Centurion has started another University on the same model in Andhra Pradesh on the invitation of the Chief Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, vide a Gazette notification of the Government of AP.
With the new tag of ‘Skill University’, CUTM will go places, feel expert’s in the field of Higher Education and Skill development.
