Leadership week aims to inspire young people
Leadership Week 2020 runs from 27 – 31 July and includes free online events, most of which are open to members of the public as well as students and staff.
The topics include Aotearoa’s potential as a progressive leader in the international community, an intimate account of activism occurring around the Pacific and an exploration of Te Tiriti o Waitangi as a basis for creative change.
A webinar hosted by Transparency International New Zealand on 29 July will address the issue of ‘groupthink’ and whether polarisation of thought and belief is ruining democracy.
Leadership Week 2020 is a partnership between the University’s Brian Picot Chair in Ethical Leadership, the Victoria University of Wellington Students Association, the University’s two leadership programmes—Wellington Plus and the Wellington International Leadership Programme—and Disability Services.
“The team has curated a week of events that will stimulate challenging and creative ideas and push boundaries,” says Provost Professor Wendy Larner. “I am looking forward to see people from the Wellington community join with students and staff for inspiring conversations.”
