Dr. Jitendra e-inaugurates development projects in Reasi district

Reasi: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh today e-inaugurated six projects across district Reasi that would increase connectivity in the district and provide irrigation facilities to different areas of the district.
The projects are road from Agharjito to Pangatha, Motorable Deck type Plate Girder Bridge over Nallah Tuksan on Bagga Gulabgarh Road, Kanjli Khul & Mari Khul irrigation facilities, span steel motorable bridge on Pouni to Thorni Road and irrigation facility to villages Gran and Goswan of Reasi district.
After inaugurating the projects, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that despite serious challenges posed by the Covid19 pandemic in the last few months, the country has not compromised with the pace of development.
Elaborating further, he mentioned about the review taken by him of various developmental projects and centrally sponsored schemes during the recently concluded District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meetings of various (six) districts.
Dr. Singh reiterated that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has emphasized upon all to dedicate completed development projects to people of the country without waiting for its formal inauguration. He said that the Government gave primacy to people’s needs and that people should not face difficulties of any kind for the sake of formal inauguration of various developmental projects.
Giving an insight into the various development projects constructed in district Reasi, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the highest railway bridge in the world is being constructed in the district that was 35 meters taller than the Eiffel tower in Paris, France.
Dr. Singh further said that despite many challenges, Panchayat and BDC elections were conducted in J&K and the Government, as promised by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, was undeterred in its efforts to empower these institutions substantially for making them true symbols of the representative democracy in Jammu and Kashmir.
Besides District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib, Harbans Lal Sharma Chief planning officer, Executive Engineers from different departments and district officers, BDC Chairpersons, Sarpanchs and Panchs were also present at the inauguration.
Deputy Commissioner Reasi stressed on repair and construction of roads in district Reasi.
